In response to national and international terror threats the judicial system has initiated many security enhancement projects since Oklahoma City and September 11 (9/11). The Florida Supreme Court as the pinnacle of the judicial arm of Florida is situated adjacent to the Capitol Building and as such is subject to many threats.

This particular project addresses one aspect of security for the Court, security at the main building entry. The work is two-fold, one, providing a bomb rated entry door protection system, and two, access control and screening of visitors to the building. This Level 4 security project, although technical in nature and design, had to address the historical nature of the sixty (60) year old building. To this effect, the front entry bomb blast doors were built to resemble the existing architectural doors that adorned the front of the building.

Secondly, security containment within the Lobby was accomplished through architectural glass storefront and casework systems, in keeping with the interior décor.
