Magnetic Lab FSUFREE ELECTRON LASER BLDGS

Childers Construction Company is currently providing Design-Build services for the new Free Electron Laser (FEL) facility at Innovation Park in Tallahassee, Florida.  The site for the FEL Building is located adjacent at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL) within the Southwest Campus of the Florida State University with Laboratory and Offices. In addition, a Cryogenics building will be constructed which will house the necessary cryogenics plant needed to operate the superconducting radiofrequency components of the electron beam accelerator which drives the FEL.

The anticipated size of the FEL Building is 31,592 sq. ft. The Cryogenics Plant is slated to be 7,850 sq. ft.
